Yet another woman has gone missing in Tembisa. Unathi is said to have gone missing on November 29.
According to the Tembisa Child Welfare Social Workers, the missing person is only known to them as Unathi, and she left a six-year-old child behind and unattended at Madelakufa Section 1.
“We have received information that she was recently seen around Tembisa and we suspect that she may have left on her own will just because it is festive season.
“We would like to appeal to the community to help us trace her and bring her back home to her son.
“Anyone with information can contact Charity Koloane, one of our social workers on 081 702 6905,” said Lindi Molefe, deputy director at the Tembisa Child Welfare.
Police spokesperson Capt Ralidzhivha Manyadza has appealed to the public, especially females, to avoid walking alone at night and in dangerous places.
“We are seeing an increase of such cases, where women just go missing without a trace. In most cases these women are kidnapped or taken by force at night and when these incidents happen, these women are either travelling alone or with children.
So, we would like to plead with the public to develop the habit of walking in groups. We are aware that it is the festive season and many people attend different parties and stokvels and in most cases they indulge in alcohol, which makes them easy targets. Refrain from walking alone, rather travel in groups and be safe,” appealed Manyadza.
