No answer yet about weekend load shedding – Friday’s schedule

Eskom will provide a prognosis for the long weekend later today.

Eskom will again implement stage 2 load shedding on Friday from 9am to 11pm.

Load shedding will be required all day to cater for further trips and to create capacity to replenish water reserves for pumped storage schemes.

Breakdowns were at nearly 12 000MW at 6.30am on Friday. Eskom continues to use diesel for open cycle gas turbines and water at pumped storage schemes to supplement capacity.

Eskom will provide a prognosis for the long weekend later today.
