Avion cricket team kicks off new SPCA tradition

Avion Park Cricket Club’s chairperson’s league team collected 66 bags of dog food for the SPCA.

Avion Park Cricket Club’s chairperson’s league team set a new December tradition where the last game of the season will be a fund-raiser for charity.

This comes after the team aimed to collect 50 bags of dog food to hand over to the Kempton Park SPCA during their last game held at the Barnard Stadium on December 1.

“The team reached their target comfortably and collected 66 bags of dog food,” said Dick van Loggerenberg.

“Thank you to all the players, family members and friends who contributed. Special thank you also goes to our sponsors Cyber Saloon, SOS 24/7 Security and International Travel Shops Africa.

“As a team, we encourage members of the community to take special care of their animals over this festive season.”
