Bring the police closer to you via their new app
Through the app, you will know immediately how far the closest police station is and how to get there.
The recently launched MySAPS app is offering citizens a new way to not only interact with the police about crime but also find useful information.
The app gives you the opportunity to submit a tip-off, call Crime Stop or find your nearest police station during an emergency.
It also gives you direct access to all the police force’s social media accounts.

If you are in a situation where you urgently need to get to the closest police station, the app tells you the distance to the station and directs you there via Google Maps.
For example, Kempton Express’ offices on Monument Road is exactly 2.11km away from Kempton Park Police Station.
After downloading the app from the Google Play or Apple store, users are informed of the purposes of the app and are given the choice to complete a profile or leave this section blank.
When reporting a crime, the user will need to provide details of the crime which include who, what, when, where and how they know about the crime. Details and a description should also be provided to help the police create a profile of the suspect.
Once the report is submitted, users will receive a reference number which they can use to follow up on the matter reported. If you choose to remain anonymous when submitting a tip-off, your profile information will not be submitted. If you choose to communicate when submitting a tip-off, your profile information will be submitted.
If your profile information is not completed, no information will be submitted, but the police will still have the capability to communicate via the application.
