Children enjoy Day of Reconciliation in style

There were jumping castles for children and music for the adults.

Sello Sa Tlou Theatre Group hosted the first-ever Kids Festival at Winnie Mandela Open Sport complex next to Winnie Mandela Library on December 16.

There were jumping castles for children and music for the adults. The festival also provided a platform for local artists to showcase their talent.

Organiser Sello Malebana said the event was aimed at relieving parents of their duties to guard their children for a while, and bringing children from different backgrounds together to enjoy themselves.

“During this time we had children from other provinces visiting and they enjoyed the atmosphere of Gauteng,” said Malebana.

Event co-founder Thapelo Moholela said his experiences at events such as Powerico, Philly’s Games and Learto Lamula Tournament inspired him to host the Kids Festival.

“Some of the funds from the event will donated to crèches, where we as Sello Sa Tlou Theatre Group rehearse.

“The crèche Babelegi doesn’t not have proper equipment for children to play on, and we would love to contribute towards such equipment,” said Moholela.
