Bredell caravanners blessed with festive celebrations

A warm meal, presents, entertainment and jumping castles were among the things enjoyed

Jingle bells were ringing at a caravan park in Bredell during a recent Christmas celebration.

The event was organised by A Way Out Recruitments with the help of different companies and individuals.

“It was something that was close to my heart and I wanted to do something special for the residents, especially the children,” said Toni Ford, founder of A Way Out Recruitments.

“I was humbled when I mentioned my idea to a couple of people and they were willing to help.”

Gift time: Nersharn Lakhraj (8) was excited to receive his Christmas present that was specially wrapped with his name on it. He gave Santa (Kevin van Zyl) a big hug in appreciation of his present.

A warm meal, gifts, entertainment by Jitterbug Jukebox SA and jumping castles were among the things enjoyed at the celebration.

While it was raining, it was also pouring gifts. Santa arrived and blessed the children with sweet packs and presents that were specially wrapped for each child.

“Although I was at the forefront and organising, I couldn’t have done this without everyone who donated towards the event,” said Ford.

“The following people donated and assisted: Belinda from 123 Jumping Castles, Graham Pass from Pink Panthers Project, Jukebox Jitter Box, Melanie Loubser, Kevin van Zyl, Thea van Eeden Bakery, Alta and Esme van der Merwe, Ruhan Kruger, George and Johan from Pangea, Lorraine helped cook rice and mielie meal, Lloyd Russel, Chaneen and Richard, Abigail van der Merwe, Lynette, Designerd, Rootbox, Joey and Eugene and the ladies from Immanuel Church, Shanice and Niren, Lorraine Pelser, Gerry Robinson from QI Logistics and Julie Steenkamp.

“Manny and Carlos from the butchery gave us the chicken at a good price and Jan and Michelle Louw cooked the chicken stew. I am truly grateful for all the people and companies that donated towards the event and helped make it as special and successful as it was.

“All went well and it is because of the selfless acts of all the people I worked with. May God bless you abundantly.”

It was raining sweets at the celebration and the children loved it as they competed in getting as many sweets as they could.
