Stage 2 load shedding to continue until Monday

Here is your schedule

Despite promises that no load shedding would be implemented before January 13, Eskom will continue with stage 2 load shedding on Sunday from 8am until Monday at 5am.

The entity implemented stage 2 load shedding at 10pm on Saturday evening.

According to Eskom, the system remains constrained and vulnerable. The conveyer belt at Medupi Power Station has been repaired and the plant is feeding power into the grid.

This incident, however, as well as the loss of additional generation units, resulted in the depletion of diesel and pump storage levels, which need to be restored before the working week starts on Monday, Eskom said on Sunday morning.
