Organisation calls for support for matric learners as results are released
A call to support matriculants.

Just a day before the official announcement of the 2019 matric results, the Faith Based Organisation’s chairperson, Bishop Michael Mtshali, has appealed for calm and called for extra support for those who didn’t do well.
Speaking to the Tembisan, Mtshali argued that a number of parents tend to blame their children for not passing their matric and this leads to suicide and depression.
“We have witnessed in the past a number of incidences where students who didn’t do well in their final examination, take their own lives due to lack of support.
“We owe it to ourselves as parents and as a community to encourage these children to try again, instead of pointing fingers and calling them stupid,” said Mtshali.
“I want to call upon our fellow pastors and bishops, educators and intellectuals within the township to take a stand and come up with ideas and solutions to help these children overcome their disappointment.
“We all need to stand up and encourage them not to give up, but to try again and this time with extra work and effort,” he continued.
Mtshali went on to say he believes that those who have passed, have already applied to study at their tertiary institutions of their choices.
