DigiCampus joins the Woza Matrics campaign
Woza Matrics is a free-to-air television initiative that is aimed at supporting the matric learners of 2020 following the disruptions caused by Covid-19.
DigiCampus is proud to be part of the Woza Matrics programme that was developed by the Department of Basic Education.
Woza Matrics is a free-to-air television initiative that is aimed at supporting the matric learners of 2020 following the disruptions caused by Covid-19.
DigiCampus will provide the content from their comprehensive video library of the CAPS curriculum that will be broadcasted on SABC 3, all DStv packages, and on Openview (Channel 122) from 8am to 10am and 1pm to 3pm for seven days during the course of the campaign.
“It was an easy decision for us to become part of the initiative and make our resources available to the Woza Matrics programme as it fits perfectly what our goal as a company is.
“We aim to give access to quality education to all learners within South Africa’s education system through our online platform,” says Tsepang Setipa, chief executive officer of DigiCampus.
Woza Matrics launched on Tuesday (September 1), and will provide all matrics with access to educational content for 12 weeks to support them in the build-up to their final examinations. Subjects that will be covered are math, life sciences, geography, physical science, accounting, economics, math literacy, English first additional language, history and business studies.

“I am most grateful to SABC, Multichoice and eMedia Investments who have so generously made their broadcast networks and expertise available to Woza Matrics.
“Also to the content providers (including DigiCampus, Mindset and Monyetla Trust) who have shared all their excellent content with Woza Matrics to the National Education Collaboration Trust, to PILO and Satrix which has been a major sponsor of PILO’s work on content curation, to the many educators who have been involved in making this happen and as well as to Bidvest and the numerous other sponsors who have helped fund the work which has gone into making Woza Matrics possible,” said Department of Basic Education minister Angie Motshekga.
“It is important that we support our matrics after the disruption that the Covid-19 pandemic caused to their final school year. Our company was, however, not born out of recent necessity, but launched way back in 2017 when digital learning was identified as an essential disrupter to ensure equitable and wider-reaching education in South Africa,” said Setipa.
DigiCampus’ English video library for matrics consists of just over 500 lessons. Learners can access the rest of DigiCampus’ extensive library on www.digicampus.co.za for free. This library includes lessons of all subjects from Grade R to 12 on the CAPS curriculum in four of South Africa’s official languages – English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, and Zulu.
