Two suspects posing as private healthcare workers nabbed for fraud

Kempton Park SAPS arrested two suspects masquerading as workers from a private healthcare provider after allegedly attempting to defraud a medical manufacturing company.

It is alleged that the incident involved Nitrile gloves valued at R192 280 and the arrests were made in Isando on October 21.

According to Sgt Dipuo Ditshego, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, detectives followed up on a case in which the complainant alleged that while he was on duty at the manufacturing company he received a call for an order for the gloves.

“The following day another person contacted the same company and asked to place another order. The complainant became suspicious and contacted the healthcare provider to confirm the order and he was told that they never placed an order.

“The complainant contacted the SAPS and officers acted. They waited for the suspects to collect their orders from the medical equipment supplier. The two were arrested for fraud.”

The suspects were detained and will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.
