It’s been two months since the disappearance of a 17-year-old girl who was last seen on September 8 at about 12.40pm after leaving home without telling anyone.

Nokuthula Andiswa Ngwenya, a Grade 11 learner at Maphutha Secondary School in Mayibuye, is described by her family as a “bubbly person”.

She left her home at Clivia Gardens in Clayville and was last seen by her cousin and other children in the area.

According to Det Kwennite, the missing person’s case was moved from Olifantsfontein to Thembisa SAPS.

“We are doing everything in our power to find her,” said Kwennite.

Samke Nkabinde is hoping for a breakthrough in her case.

“My daughter left home without telling anyone.

“She was last seen wearing light grey tracksuit pants, a black T-shirt, a light grey hoodie top and black and white tekkies.

“Her being missing is absolutely horrifying. Is she is alive? If she safe? Does she have a roof over her head and food to eat?”

Nkabinde said the family also distributed flyers urging anyone with information on the missing teenager’s whereabouts to come forward.

“Police tracked her phone, which was found in Bloemfontein,” said Nkabinde.

“We went to Bloemfontein in the hopes of finding her but it was in vain. Hopefully, we will find her soon.

“I miss my daughter. My message to my daughter is that we miss her and the family is incomplete without her.”

Anyone with information about Ngwenya’s whereabouts can contact Kwennite on 073 465 9764 or Nkabinde on 073 545 4848.
