Suspect in Mpho Mafole’s murder remains in custody
Thabani Goodwill Ntshalintshali's latest appearance follows a failure to attend his scheduled hearing on August 15.
The case against the man accused of murdering the City of Ekurhuleni’s group divisional head for corporate and forensic audits, Mpho Mafole, has been postponed once again.
Thabani Goodwill Ntshalintshali, the accused, appeared briefly before the magistrate in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court, Regional Court Two, on October 2. The matter was postponed to October 14, when a formal bail application will be heard.

Ntshalintshali is accused of fatally shooting Mafole in Kempton Park on June 30. His latest appearance follows a failure to attend his scheduled hearing on August 15.
For now, Ntshalintshali will remain in custody until his next court date.

The City of Ekurhuleni has previously welcomed the arrest, commending the work of the SAPS, EMPD, and Hawks for their role in the breakthrough. City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini described Mafole as a man of “dedication, integrity, and accountability,” adding that his loss remains deeply felt by colleagues and residents alike.
