SAPS divers recover two bodies in separate Thembisa incidents

SAPS divers from the Gauteng Water Policing and Diving Services (WPDS) responded to multiple water-related incidents across the province, recovering two bodies between July 11 and 12.

On July 11, at around 12:30, members responded to a complaint near Flint Mazibuko Street, Winnie Mandela, Thembisa. The badly decomposed body of an adult female was recovered from the marshland and handed over to the detective on scene.

On July 12, at around 14:00, members responded to a report of a body floating in a sewage-infested river leading to the Kaalspruit River at Maokeng Section, Thembisa, near Marokane Drive.

The badly decomposed body of an adult male was recovered using high-angle equipment and handed over to Thembisa SAPS members on site.

Inquest dockets for both cases are currently under investigation by the local SAPS stations.
