Government services delivered through Tembisa outreach

Community members benefited when government and private stakeholders delivered services during an outreach campaign.

The recent Parliamentary Constituency Office Government Service Outreach Campaign Programme brought together key stakeholders to deliver essential services and resources to the community.

Among those in attendance were the SAPS, the Youth Crime Prevention Desk, Take Charge, the CPF, the Professional Job Centre, the ANC, the Department of Health, the South African Social Security Agency, Old Mutual and Sanlam.

Constable Kate Selepe of the Tembisa South SAPS stated that the campaign aimed to make services more accessible to the public.

“The initiative aimed to provide essential government services, educate the community about available resources, and foster partnerships between government departments and private sector stakeholders,” she said.

Various services were offered, including police services, crime prevention education, job training and placement services, health services and awareness campaigns, social security support and assistance and financial services and planning guidance.

Community members appreciated the outreach, which Selepe described as successful.

“The programme reinforced the importance of collaboration between government departments and private sector stakeholders,” she said.
