Growthpoint Properties collaborated with Threads for iKasi Foundation for a second time to donate 50 full winter school uniform packages at Zitikeni Secondary School in Thembisa recently.

The Foundation was established to address the challenges young people in Thembisa face. The partnership aims to help learners who feel excluded because they can’t afford a proper uniform.

The packages include uniforms ranging from shoes, drymacs, and beanies.

“Real impact is built through consistent and intentional partnerships. Every uniform we hand over is more than just clothing; it is dignity, confidence and a reminder to learners and their families that their future matters.

“We are proud to continue this journey with Growthpoint and to keep stitching that golden thread of care, hope and opportunity into the lives of learners who deserve every chance to succeed”, Mguni said.

Zitekeni Secondary principal Page Mahlangu expressed immense gratitude to the organisations.

“For many of our learners, receiving a complete school uniform removes a significant barrier to academic achievement. It sends a message that they and their education matter.

“This kind of support strengthens the entire school community, and we look forward to seeing the impact it has on our learners’ confidence, attendance and achievement,” he said.

Growthpoint Properties’ head of corporate social responsibility and transformation, Shawn Theunissen, shared that the previous year highlighted the profound impact school uniforms can have on a child’s sense of self and ability to focus on learning.

He added that the organisation’s CSR approach stems from the belief that meaningful change happens through people collaborating, not just through programs, and through responsible corporate citizenship.
He said they are committed to building relationships with community organisations to create a lasting impact.
