Siliga aims to produce Thembisa’s next professional boxer
The centre is also in need of boxing equipment to continue fulfilling its dreams of one day having a national boxer
Former professional boxer Ndivhuwo Siliga aims to breed a top boxer at his wellness centre to represent Thembisa.
Siliga is the founder of Horse Power Boxing and Wellness Centre next to Isekelo Primary School in Isthame Section.
“In 2013, I retired from professional boxing due to an injury and I started my own boxing facility,” said Siliga.
“The aim is to keep the youth busy and away from the streets. I also aim to train and keep mental fitness and the ultimate goal is to have a Kaizer Mabuza of Thembisa,” adds Siliga.
“We have seven professional boxers who have just broken into leagues, as well as female boxers. We have Lethabo Rapelego, Junson Mudzanani and Kabelo Ramphahlele, to mention a few.
“The centre is also in need of boxing equipment to continue fulfilling its dreams of one day having a national boxer.
“We appeal to anyone to support us to get training equipment, like boxing gloves, skipping ropes and punching bags.”
Issac Munzhele, a boxer from the centre who became professional in 2018, continues to practice at the venue.
He said he has a deep love for the sport and sees his career taking off to new heights one day.
“I started boxing in 2010 and I actually look up Mruti Mtalala and Gideon Buthelezi,” said Munzhele.
The centre has no joining fee and welcomes any fresh talent. Anyone who wants to assist can contact 076 655 6805.
