Segoale said when players retire, most are likely to battle with financial and emotional problems. Therefore, it is important for soccer players to invest intelligently for their future, have professional guidance and financial planning in preparation for life after football.
“It becomes very difficult for many football players to earn a living after football when they only depend on one revenue stream, which is their salary. The sad thing is that some of the players’ careers are ended by injuries at a very young age. Some of these young players do not have other skills and/or qualifications to join the labour market.
“Most footballers never speak about the challenges after their football careers, as it frightening to them. It is advisable for current players and those in the retiring stage to invest in their futures. We know and understand the challenges since some of us are former professional footballers.
“We created a platform for footballers to promote small or big businesses and allow their fans to buy their locally manufactured goods or services.”
