Kempton Park-based LionHearts FC recently celebrated another victory, winning their latest match against Bedfordview 1-0.
This win adds to the club’s impressive record, with two league cup victories in the past three seasons.
“It feels amazing to see our children believing in themselves and their abilities. This win shows we’re heading in the right direction,” said Monique Britton, chairperson of LionHearts FC.

Britton said the club’s primary focus is on developing young talent, noting that trophies are a welcome bonus.
She also highlighted the club’s commitment to balancing sports and academics.
“We practice only twice a week so our players have time to focus on their schoolwork.”
With a roster of 30 players and a dedicated four-member board, LionHearts FC aims to expand its reach and attract more sponsors.
“I have big dreams for the club and am grateful to Coach Kevin. Together, we have a bright future,” Britton added.
Head coach Kevin Thokozani Mbele shared his ambitious vision for the club, targeting 2028 as a milestone year to establish LionHearts as a local football powerhouse and produce professional-level players.

“We want to grow to include U8 to U15 teams so all young players get a chance to play, helping keep kids off the streets and away from negative influences,” Mbele said.
Britton attributed the club’s success to hard work, teamwork, and strong parental support.
“Everyone is invested in our vision, and we work as a united team,” she said.
LionHearts FC also tackles challenges through a solid code of conduct, collaborative leadership, and open communication.
To maintain last year’s momentum, the club retained its core team, strategically filling gaps to strengthen its lineup.
“We identified specific positions that needed improvement and found the right players for those roles,” Mbele said.
Mbele said his motivational approach, centres on building strong relationships, encouraging self-belief, and promoting teamwork.
“I remind the players to believe in themselves and play as a team, not as individuals,” he said.

“I am genuinely amazed at how much they’ve developed. They play beyond their years and continue to improve,” said Mbele.
LionHearts FC extended thanks to sponsors Melvyn from American Fanatics, Gross Over Festival Mall, Shangri-La Academy, and Birch Acres Primary School for their ongoing support.
