William named regional winner

Tedcor trains and develops people to become entrepreneurs in the vital area of sustainable waste management services in South Africa’s poorest areas.
To recognise the very best of these entrepreneurs, the company launched the Community Contractor of the Year Awards in 2010.
The nationwide award has recognised contractors in the Bafokeng, Tshwane and Mafikeng regions. This time someone from Mogale City has been recognised.
Willie’s Waste Management, under the strong leadership of William Moagi, is the regional winner.
Two years ago, William made the decision to leave the construction industry to set up a waste management company.
Tedcor stepped in to assist William with start-up capital to get his business rolling.
Today William has 10 industrious and dedicated staff members in his employ. His company offers a waste removal service and they do street sweeping, clear litter and remove builders’ rubble.
In addition to monetary assistance, Tedcor provided William with access to business management skills and his business now shows a monthly profit.
Isaac Nhlapo, Tedcor Operational Supervisor for the area says, “William manages his business very well as he now understands business fundamentals. He has grown into a real businessperson and is showing profit.”
The Principals of Tedcor, the Mogale City Council officials, the ward councillors as well as the community have named him the over-all winner in Mogale.
“The area that he maintains is always clean and tidy. He drives his own trucks and takes very special care of it.”
