A resident of Krugersdorp, Ettienne Stevens, feels the need to praise Mogale City Local Municipality’s Water Department after their prompt service to repair a water leak.
“I arrived at work on Monday (24 June) and water was flowing from the corner of Human and Fountain Street. I phoned our Ward Councillor Jakkie Naudé who attended to the problem.”
Stevens says he believes the water leak must have started during the weekend.
“When people see a water leak, they must report it immediately as thousands of litres of water go to waste and we, the taxpayers pay for it in the end,” he commented.
“We must be the eyes and ears of the community and of the municipality.”
Stevens showed the NEWS that the water was coming from a water meter.
Naudé was contacted about the matter and according to him the leak has been there for longer than just a weekend.
“It must have taken the water department a week to fix the leak and in the process the water was wasted, costing taxpayers a lot of money.”
