Factory fire a false alarm
The fire was put out quickly and nothing else was damaged.
On Monday 5 August the NEWS team was informed about a factory on fire in Chamdor.
The tip-off came from a community member around midday who claimed that the well-known textile factory shop situated on Chamdor Road was on fire.
The NEWS immediately rushed to the scene.
On arrival it was found that the fire had already been extinguished, but there was no sign of a burning building.
The NEWS contacted the spokesperson of the West Rand Emergency Services who confirmed the fire, but said that it was not of a factory, but three containers that caught fire.
The fire was put out quickly and nothing else was damaged.
The fire department will conduct an investigation as to how the fire started.
