Put Muldersdrift on the map

It is important that we put Muldersdrift firmly on the map and a proper listing of all venues and businesses will go a long way.

The Muldersdrift Communications Action Group (MCAG) is undertaking a project to assist all business and hotel owners in the Muldersdrift area to ensure their business is listed on as many digital maps as possible.

Muldersdrift is one of those special places in Gauteng, boasting some of the finest country hotels and restaurants and home to a multitude of different adventure sports, art galleries, nurseries and the like.

Trevor D’Oliveira, business spokesperson for MCAG says, “The huge increase in the use of GPS mapping has made it imperative to have your business listed in the correct location on the various maps. Many businesses do not have the time to get their business listed on these mapping systems. The committee accordingly is working with Monash University and Community Ministries to achieve this as a group and at no cost to the business owners.

“We are starting by encouraging everyone to ensure that their own listing on Google maps is correct and then we will be expanding from there to ensure that all these businesses are listed also on as many of the free search sites and navigation maps as possible,” he says.

“It is important that we put Muldersdrift firmly on the map and a proper listing of all venues and businesses will go a long way to accomplishing this. We encourage all business owners to take five minutes of their time to kick-start the process now,” concludes D’Oliviera.

Adding your listing to Google Places for Business is free. Go to www.google.co.za/business/placesforbusiness/? and click ‘Add new business’.

Follow the easy steps, which includes calling to verify your business listing. It can take up to two weeks for the listing to appear on Google Maps so to avoid missing out on having your listing included in all the other search engines as part of this project, MCAG encourages that you check your Google listing before 1 September.
