Rape suspect sought
Seven occupants of a taxi grabbed a woman who was walking home and forced her into a taxi.
The South African Police Service is appealing to anyone who has information that can lead to the arrest of a rape suspect to come forward.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson says a woman was raped on 21 July before being abandoned close to Azaadville.
“The woman allegedly was walking home on Kutlwanong Street in central Kagiso. When she arrived at the corner of Utlhanong Street she noticed a taxi with seven occupants coming from behind her.”
He says they offered her a lift and when she refused, they insulted her.
“The suspect and his accomplices then grabbed and forced her into their taxi and drove out of the area, whereafter she was raped and left near Azaadville.”
