Walk the talk at the Diabetes Global Walk
Local personalities will entertain the crowds and there will be loads of lucky draw prizes.
Accept the healthy lifestyle challenge – not only for yourself, but for your family and friends and join in the Johannesburg leg of the Diabetes SA 5km Global Walk/ Run proudly supported by ProNutro on Saturday 2 November at 9am at the Walkhaven Dog Park at Plot 77 in Zwartkop.
The organisers and supporters of Diabetes SA are all set to go and aim to encourage over 800 walkers and runners to enter.
In addition to the walk, there will be a festive Wellness Expo that allows members of the public to receive free glucose and blood pressure tests among other exciting features. Local personalities will entertain the crowds and there will be loads of lucky draw prizes.
In order to give you enough time to pre-register, one can go to the following venues:
On Saturday 19 October at Pick n Pay Clearwater Mall and on Saturday 26 October at the Pick n Pay on Nicol Way (corner of Republic and William Nicol Roads) from 9am until noon.
Diabetes SA personnel will be on duty to help with the registration process.
“South Africa needs an event like this. Not many people are aware that diabetes is a serious medical condition where there is too much glucose in the bloodstream; hence diabetes has been dubbed the ‘silent killer’ for years and we seriously need to do something about it collectively!” says Leigh-Ann Bailie, the Executive Manager at Diabetes SA in Johannesburg.
