Two men were arrested and appeared in court in Krugersdorp on Friday 25 October after being linked to one of the biggest drug syndicates on the West Rand.
According to spokesperson for the Hawks, Captain Paul Ramaloko, the men aged 68 and 25 respectively were arrested on Thursday 24 October for producing Mandrax in a house in Boltonia.
“Chemicals and equipment used to produce the drug were found inside the house,” he says.
Police also came across three kilograms of Mandrax tablets.
The Hawks believe that one of the suspects is a well-known drug dealer from Soweto.
