Woman kills man with umbrella

A Kagiso woman is behind bars after admitting to the murder of her boyfriend.

A 49-year-old woman from Kagiso was arrested on Sunday 27 October after allegedly murdering her boyfriend.

According to Kagiso SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, police received an anonymous call informing them about a murder in Soul City, Kagiso.

“Arriving at the address provided, police found a man lying on the ground in the back yard; he was dead on arrival,” says Sibiya.

“Police noticed that he had sustained open wounds to his eyes, nose, forehead and arms.”

“While investigating the scene a woman claiming to be the victim’s girlfriend came up to the police and identified herself as the killer,” says Sibiya.

The woman allegedly told the police that she and her boyfriend had an altercation during which she attacked him with an umbrella.

Police say that she also admitted to assaulting him with a pot.

The woman was arrested and detained at Kagiso Police Station where a case docket of murder had been opened.
