The Kagiso Police has received two unusual complaints of house robberies in a space of two weeks.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson says on 20 November at about 1.40pm a man was held at gun point after two men gained entry to his home under false pretence.

“They pretended to be lost and wanted to know if there was a police official in the house who could assist them with directions,” says Sibiya.

“One suspect suddenly requested to use the toilet and he therefore let them into his house. Once in, they held him at gun point.”

They robbed him of his Samsung flat screen television worth R17 000, a Smart flat television screen worth R7 000, a lap top pocket bell worth R3 500 and two Samsung Tote worth R4 000 each.

In a second incident a man was tied up and robbed of various valuables on 3 December at about 2.15pm when he opened the front door after hearing someone knocking.

“The men were allegedly looking for a certain police officer who was driving a red Volkswagen Golf 6. One man asked for a glass of water.”

A Samsung Plasma television set, a Sansui amplifier, a BlackBerry cell phone and HP Laptop were stolen.

Sibiya says that they are appealing to the community to be more vigilant.

“For those who leave children at home as schools are closed, please make sure that you inform and warn them about this latest activity.”
