
Saturday 8 February and Sunday 9 February will be your last chance to register for the 2014 General Election.
All voting stations throughout the country will be open from 8am to 5pm on both days to register voters.
Only a green bar-coded ID, a temporary ID or a new ID smart card will be accepted at voting stations during the registration weekend. A driver’s licence or passport will not be accepted.
Registered voters – 18 years and older – will be eligible to vote in the General Election, which will take place in the next three months.
President Jacob Zuma will proclaim the date of the election after the registration weekend at which point the voters roll will close and registration for the 2014 General Election will end.
Sixteen-year-olds can register during this weekend but will not be able to vote in this General Election.
Register to vote this weekend or visit your voting station to ensure that your name is on the voters’ roll.
