Teddies for smiles
To give abused and traumatised children something to smile about, three women spend their time knitting and stuffing teddy bears.
Three women from the Moria Old Age Home spend their time to put smiles on the faces of abused and traumatised children in the community.
Winnie Groenewald, Avis Launspach and Maxie Saunders do this by knitting and stuffing teddies. The teddies are distributed to organisations such as the Teddy Bear Clinic to make those children feel special and comforted.
The project, which forms part of the Krugersdorp Lions Service Organisation, was started in June last year. Avis is leading the team of ladies.
To support this project about 200 teddies without stuffing are being donated by the Eastbourne Lions Club in the United Kingdom as part of their humanitarian aid for abused children.
