Christmas in February for Border Collie Rescue

3 500kg of Montego Classic dog food was donated to 18 animal shelters across the country.

After a busy Christmas period, Border Collie Rescue Gauteng, which is based in Muldersdrift, received a well-deserved present – 328kg of dog food courtesy of Montego Pet Nutrition.

According to Julie Morris, Border Collie Rescue Gauteng’s rehoming officer, “December was far from festive owing to the flurry of intakes we had to deal with.

“As a result, we now have 23 Border Collies looking for forever homes. This donation could not have come at a better time and we are most grateful.”

The donation was made possible by Montego’s recent Click to Feed campaign, which encouraged facebook users to vote for their favourite animal rescue organisation. For each click, Montego donated one meal to that organisation. Border Collie Rescue Gauteng received 1 877 clicks.

Johan van Jaarsveld from Montego Pet Nutrition says, “Our Click to Feed campaign ran for two months and in that time we received 20 000 votes, which amounts to 3 500kgs of Montego Classic dog food for 18 animal shelters across the country. We are thrilled that we were able to help so many deserving animal shelters and hope that our donation will make a big difference.”
