FF Plus requests valuation roll to be retracted
De Lange is urging property owners to check the contents of this document to prevent future problems and queries.

The Freedom Front Plus has lodged a formal request to Mogale City to retract the current advertised 2014/18 valuation roll.
The request has been lodged by Councillor Amanda de Lange, Freedom Front Plus Gauteng media spokesperson, who is also a councillor for the Mogale Local Municipality.
The request is due to numerous mistakes and incorrect information throughout the valuation roll for 2014/18 that is currently available for public scrutiny.
De Lange says that the Municipal Evaluation Board has strict regulations about the credibility of public documentation and the valuation roll does not comply in its current state.
Apart from a number of discrepancies, the Freedom Front Plus also has identified a number of private properties in the Hartebeesfontein district that incorrectly reflects Mogale City as the owner of the properties.
According to De Lange, Mogale City has been requested to retract the valuation roll and make the necessary corrections in order to comply with Section 48 of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act 6 of 2004 (MPRA). They also have been requested to re-issue notifications to owners in order to comply with Section 49 of the MPRA.
“The amended valuation roll for 2014/18 must then be re-advertised,” she said.
