Tiki’s take on next week’s election
Tiki Seemela encourages voters to support the Democratic Alliance next week.
Patrick ‘Tiki’ Seemela, Democratic Alliance Public Representative Councillor, has a unique take on next week’s election.
He believes that many of us take our future for granted and that we need to be reminded that we have not achieved our final goal yet.
“We do not have a society free from corruption and abuse of power yet. We cannot just sit and talk about the problems and expect things to improve. It is simply not enough to sit and watch as others destroy our values and vision of a corruption-free country,” says Seemela. He believes that South Africans’ strength and endurance must propel them further along the path of democracy. It must come from the people themselves. They must realise fully the significance of their vote in next week’s general election.
“Each one of us ultimately is responsible for our own future.”
Tiki Seemela encourages voters to support the Democratic Alliance next week.
“No society is perfect and unfortunately no society is free of corruption, but each one of us must do our utmost to ensure that the current high levels of corruption and abuse of our system are reduced to a minimum. Each of us has a duty to himself/herself and to the country to be familiar with the Constitution of our country, according to which we exercise our right to vote. This year marks the most auspicious year in the history of our democracy. It marks the close of our second decade.
“As proud South Africans we will be voting for a new government on 7 May. Vote Democratic Alliance come election day. The ANC-led government has let you down for the past 20 years, both in terms of poor service delivery and for enriching only a few of its cadres. We must realise that every one of us will have to apply our minds even more than in the past. This is a tipping point election – a turning point in our history. The past has shown we have great potential, a great will to grow and to succeed as a nation. Support the Democratic Alliance next week in both the provincial and national ballots for a better future and a corrupt-free government.”
