Video: officer parks at stop sign to buy lunch
A traffic officer's every move is caught on camera when she uses a stop sign as a parking bay.
A sharp-eyed reader used modern-day technology to catch every moment of a Mogale City Traffic official parking her car at a stop sign and leaving it to buy lunch.
The reader, whose identity is withheld for fear of victimisation, approached the news to share what he saw after recently driving behind the officer.
She simply stopped at the sign, pulled up the handbrake, stepped out of the car and ordered food at a convenience store on Voortrekker Road.
The reader expressed his annoyance with the incident because officers such as this one are supposed to be an example to other motorists.
After the official was done, she casually climbed back in the vehicle and proceeded to make a right turn, not taking into consideration that the lane she was in was not a turning lane.
Photos and the video footage of the offence was forwarded to Mogale City’s Traffic Department for a response on the matter.
