Two huskies killed in bee attack

Help Husky Haven.

The Husky Haven in Elandsdrift, Lanseria is appealing to the public for financial donations to cover the vets bills after a swarm of bees attacked two dogs.

Two people also had to be hospitalised after the attack on Sunday morning 28 September.

According to Husky Haven’s Ian Jones strong winds knocked a beehive from a tree nearby, and the angry swarm descended on the 25 huskies living at the Haven.

Jones says he had to borrow protective clothing from his paramedic son to rescue the animals.

He carried the dogs to safety, two at a time.

When he arrived on scene one of the dogs already was dead, says Jones.

He says a second one died later. The two people injured in the bee attack have been discharged from hospital.
