City leaves residents in the dark about load shedding

No schedule available yet for Krugersdorp.

Mogale City residents yesterday tried to make the most of a dark situation after the area was left without power for more than seven hours.

Eskom started implementing load shedding across the country on Sunday 2 November and warned that it will continue until they have the situation under control.

A coal storage silo at Eskom’s Majuba power station collapsed on Saturday afternoon, causing the power output to be reduced from 3 600 megawatts (MW) at the time of the collapse to only 1 800MW.

The news team was flooded with telephone calls, emails, BBM messages and facebook posts from its readers, enquiring about Mogale City’s load-shedding schedule.

However, it appears there is none at this stage.

The news requested urgent feedback from the municipal spokesperson Nkosana Zali about a schedule who said that they are currently talking to Eskom about releasing it.

The news approached Eskom about the schedule but was told that the municipality needs to inform its residents.
