Fire at Krugersdorp factory

It's understood that a hydraulic pipe came loose from a machine which led to the fire.

Two people sustained minor burn injuries and three were treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at a factory in Krugersdorp yesterday 27 November.

Chitra Bodasing, an ER24 spokesperson said that they understand that a hydraulic pipe came loose from a machine which led to an oil spillage that in turn sprayed on the furnaces which resulted in the fire.

“Our paramedics treated five people for various injuries including smoke inhalation. After assessment and treatment it was found that only one patient required transportation to hospital,” she said.

Local authorities such as the police were on scene for further investigations.
