Residents from Mogale City are urged to use water sparingly as Rand Water will be conducting maintenance of its Eikenhof Pumping Station to replace a valve.
The planned disruption is expected to take place from 6pm on 24 January and will continue for at least 25 hours until 7pm on 25 January.
Justice Mohale, spokesperson for Rand Water confirmed to the news that although water pressure might be low, they are not planning total disruption in the water supply.
“We will still have water available. Rand Water will be pumping 600 mega litres of water, so there will not be a complete shutdown of water and the reservoirs will still be receiving water.”
High lying areas such as Kenmare and Noordheuwel might be more vulnerable to the water disruption owing to the low pressure that could be expected. Residents are therefore requested to prepare for possible loss of water.
