An unforeseen technical problem has forced Eskom to reinforce load shedding in stage 1.
The power utility said in a statement that the power system is severely constrained and that load shedding will continue from 11am where it will shed power of 1 000 mw.
When the news contacted the Eskom Media Desk, they were informed they should look for the schedule online. Unsure of how true the schedule is, load shedding is due to take place from 6pm until 10.30pm.
Eskom’s last load shedding was on 9 January due to high electricity demand and the unavailability of some of its generating units.
