Bribery stalled after dagga find

Dagga worth R1 000 was found in a vehicle in Tarlton.

Two men were arrested in Tarlton for being in possession of dagga and for attempting to bribe police officers this past Saturday 31 January.

Lucky Matome, a police spokesperson said Tarlton Police officers were patrolling on the R24 when they stopped and searched a white bakkie.

They found a bag full of dagga with a street value of R1 000, and arrested the driver and the passenger on the spot.

“As if that was not enough they then offered the police officers R400 in cash not to arrest them, but their plan did not work. They were charged with bribery as well.”

The police confiscated the dagga.

Both men will make a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.
