Muldersdrift faces water crisis as reservoir levels drop

Neighbouring areas are also feeling the pinch as scorching weather drives up municipal demand across Mogale City.

With temperatures rising, Muldersdrift residents are urged to use water sparingly due to shortages of the vital commodity.

According to Councillor Shenan Cochrane, the reservoir supplying Muldersdrift is running critically low today, October 29.

“This is affecting all water users in Muldersdrift. Some are receiving water, but with very low pressure, and for most still with no water supply at all,” she said.

Pressure mounts across Mogale City

She encouraged residents with water to use it as little as possible to help supply reach homes further down the lines.

On October 24, Mogale City Local Municipality Mayor Lucky Sele also announced on his official WhatsApp channel that Krugersdorp residents should use water sparingly to avoid unnecessary wastage.

“Higher temperatures can put additional pressure on our water resources, making it essential for everyone to play their part,” he concluded.
