Two die and three injured on N14

Two people died in a car accident yesterday 15 March when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, a police spokesperson said a silver-grey Volkswagen Polo was driving towards Braamvlei in Tarlton with five occupants when the driver lost control at a bend on the N14 highway. A man and a woman died instantly.

The three other occupants were rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

Sibiya said police opened a case docket of culpable homicide at the Tarlton station.

“They are also warning road users to be more cautious when using this road as this is not the first accident at this curve. The curve may not look that sharp but it is very dangerous when driving at a very high speed.”
