Krugersdorp in power crisis
Residents still left in the dark about the power outage in parts of Krugersdorp.
Krugersdorp residents are up in arms because they are experiencing more power outages than they would have if load shedding was applied.
It is believed that parts of Krugersdorp are still in the dark, with no power since sunrise.
The News has received word of an power outage in the areas of Noordheuwel Extension 4, Chancliff, Rant-en-Dal, Rangeview Extension 4, Pinehaven and Featherview.
According to facebook users on the Krugersdorp Community Forum and the Krugersdorp Network Community pages, residents who have contacted Mogale City are still in the dark about the reasons for the power outages.
The News has attempted to contact Mogale City spokesperson Nkosana Zali for comment about or an explanation for the outage. He requested the news to send him an email.
However, no comment is forthcoming and subsequent calls only reach voicemail, clearly indicating the spokesperson’s unwillingness to explain the situation.
It is believed that Kenmare, Mindalore and Krugersdorp North are not affected by the power outage.
Comments on social media suggest that a tree that had fallen on a power line could be blamed for the outages. The tree was supposed to be removed early this morning already.
The News will report on any new developments in the Krugersdorp power crises.
Please let us know if your power is on by leaving a message in the comments box.
