Easter weekend crash claims three lives on the West Rand

Despite the emergency services' efforts two people had died in an accident on the R24 road in Magaliesburg.

Two people tragically died and two others were critically injured after a vehicle overturned on the R24 road in Magaliesburg early this morning 4 April.

Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative, however the vehicle veered off the road, overturned, and came to rest in the veld.

Netcare 911 and the provincial paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the four occupants from the vehicle had been ejected from the wreckage.

After triaging it was found that a man had tragically died on impact, while three others were critically injured.

A female went into cardiac arrest and medics worked fervently to resuscitate her, tragically despite their efforts she was declared dead at the scene.

After medics stabilised the critically wounded men they transported them to nearby hospitals under the constant care of advanced life support paramedics.

In a seperate accident a man was killed last night 3 April after he was hit by a car on the N14 near Beyers Naude in Muldersdrift

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found the patient lying in the fast lane of the road. The car had parked a few metres away on the side of the road.

On assessment, paramedics found that the patient had sustained multiple fatal injures. Nothing more could be done for the patients and he was declared dead on scene.

The driver of the vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries,
