Models heading to New York
These two models will be packing their bags and heading to NY.
Two students from Figures Models Krugersdorp are heading to New York later this year.
Karmie Leigh, a pupil from Hoƫrskool Noordheuwel and vocal artist Athena Xenephou from Monument High School each received an all expenses paid trip to the International Model and Talent Association (IMTA) convention valued at R70 000 from Figures Head Office.
Five other students also started their fundraising as they have achieved exceptional results in the Figures SA IMTA finals. These students are Shaelyn Kahn, Ashleigh Garson, Marnu Rabie, Dillon Vermeulen and Vessa Kheswa.
There are 15 Figures branches throughout the country that hosts open scouting events regularly at various malls. Those entering take part in the national competition in various categories and the top finalists go through to the national finals. Winners from these finals are selected to go to the IMTA convention in New York. Some even win all expenses paid trips.
“These young people will have an opportunity to see the industry abroad and engage with over 600 agents from around the world. We wish them all the best in their respective singing, modelling and acting categories and trust this will be a great opportunity to launch their careers for the future,” said Lauren Choudree of Figures Models Krugersdorp.
Aspiring singers, actors and models hoping to attend a future convention or who would like more information can send an email to krugersdorp@figuresmodelssa.com.
“We will be hosting auditions for the next convention in 2016 on 15 August at Key West Shopping Centre and 19 September at Cradlestone Mall.”
