Nic Diederichs players earn Mogale selection

Strong performances against Carlton Jones High School boosted Nic Diederichs players’ chances to be placed in upcoming district and regional squads.

Hoër Tegniese Skool N Diederichs Technical High School’s boys’ soccer teams recently showcased their talent after several players were selected for the Mogale City high school soccer teams.

The school’s U15 and U17 teams recently competed against Carlton Jones High School, securing victories in both matches as players continue preparing for further selection opportunities.

According to coach and team director Gift Seziba, the Mogale team is a representative squad made up of top-performing players from schools across Mogale City and parts of the West Rand.

The selected teams compete in local and regional competitions, including the annual District Squad Selections and the Mayor’s Cup.

Seziba explained that local high school squads often feed into district-level selections, where teams compete against regions such as Rand West City and Merafong.

He added that the Mogale City U17 selected team currently includes players from schools such as Mosupatsela Secondary School, N Diederichs and Thuto Lefa Secondary School in Kagiso.

Seziba said the recent fixtures will help prepare the teams for larger tournaments while also contributing to player development throughout the season.
