Little riders on their way to the top
Nationals is closing in, and Roly Stud will proudly send through three of its young riders.
Roly Stud proudly saw three of their primary school riders qualify for the national championship at the final South African National Equestrian Schools Association (Sanesa) qualifier last month.
Late in June Maple Ridge Equestrian Farm hosted the fourth and final Gauteng West qualifier. Roly Stud entered their riders, confident about the outcome.
“Roly Stud aims to produce suitable ponies and horses for the various disciplines offered by Sanesa,” Lyn King, the stud’s owner and head coach said.
Lyn is assisted by her daughter Czoye Crossman and they have been producing champion horses and riders for over 40 years.
Three of their young riders, Montanna Walbarton, Hannah Jordan and Abigale Gaunt are preparing for the national championship in September in Pretoria.
“We focus on the art of riding and aim to produce quality riders,” Lyn said.
Charmaine Cochrane , who was trained by Czoye when she was five-years-old, now trains Hannah at the Roly Stud. Six-year-old Hannah won three of the four qualifiers over the last few months. Montanna Walbarton either won or came second in all four qualifiers.
“We start training from the age of three till over 60. My daughter and I are very passionate about the sport and have dedicated our lives to it,” tells Lyn.
