To run a business is child’s play

Pupils learn that making money can be fun during a recent Entrepreneurs Day.

Pupils of Paardekraal Primary School were in for a special treat with their annual Entrepreneurs Day hosted by the Grade 7s.

During the first break the rest of the school had the opportunity to support the young entrepreneurs who exhibited goods on the sports field.

Stalls ranged from sweets, cakes and bakes tables, to a foosball table, games and even a braai stand filling the air with the smell of boerewors.

The entrepreneurs also marketed their ‘businesses’ well as pupils walked up and down the field, auctioning off their goods.

Teachers and other school workers also joined in the fun and supported their pupils who each had put in a lot of effort to make a success of the day.

The event formed part of a project for this term’s Economic Management Studies.

Pupils were required to research about running a one-man business, plan the stall and presentation and showcase their skills.

The day proved to be a success as pupils learned how to make money and most of all had fun while doing it.
