Doctors open their hearts and pockets
Two local charities are blessed with a generous cash donation.
Two local charities were blessed with a generous donation by the South African Medical Association’s (Sama) West Rand branch.
The Sama West Rand is a non profit organisation which runs on membership fees of over 400 doctors.
Every year the member of the comity come together to open their hearts and pockets to a charity in need.
This year Krugersdorp’s very own Cradle of Hope and The Bethany House Trust were selected as the recipients.
Melody van Brakel, founder of Cradle of Hope and Gerrit-Maritz Jonker, representing Bethany House met at the Sama offices earlier in September to accept the generous R10 000 donation they each received.
Sama also donated R5 000 worth of blankets to the Winter Hoop project which supplied blankets to street children this past winter.
“It is an amazing feeling to be able to support local organisations that are in desperate need in tough times. Thank you to all our Sama doctors for making this special blessing possible,” Tracey Gurnell, Sama West Rand branch Administrator, said.
