BIC Boy goes back to school
BIC Boy visited Paardekraal Primary School with an important message about hope and hard work.
As he appeared from behind the curtains, their eyes went as round as white plates.
Excitement thickened the air.
BIC Boy is here.
And he came with an important message of hope and hard work for the pupils of Paardekraal Primary School.
“If you can dream it, you can be it,” BIC’s brand ambassadors told the crowd of children in the school hall. The mission was to motivate pupils to have big dreams and pursuing them by making good career choices and planning for the future from a young age.
Launched in 2011, the Choose BIC and Change a Future initiative has donated over five million pens to assist lesser-resourced pupils across South Africa. The educational school roadshow is held across Gauteng and is tackling the current social issues affecting our youth: self-respect, self-worth, respect for parents, elders and teachers, and its anti-bullying message.
“The hope is to build a groundswell of support through the initiative by encouraging the public to continue to donate stationery items and funds towards lesser-resourced schools. Every purchase of specially marked stationery items at local supermarkets will make a difference to help BIC reach its target of a million pens,” BIC marketing manager Wandile Setlhodi, said in a press statement.
Even though the morning was about fun and games and entertaining the children, the message they hoped to bring eventually came across and might influence the decisions of South Africa’s future leaders.
BIC is appealing to pupils, parents, corporates and the broader public to get involved and foster a culture of learning in South Africa.
