Residents support crime fighting partnership

Sector 7 and Dowry are a perfect match when it comes to crime fighting.

Criminals beware as local crime fighters and a local security company take crime fighting to a whole new level.

In celebration of this partnership the members of Sector 7 Community Policing Forum (CPF) hosted a fundraising braai on 5 December.

Members of Sector 7 put up their gazebos and sold boerewors rolls to raise funds and also create awareness in the community by networking with residents.

The funds raised will be utilised for future projects in the community.

Sector 7 also recently opened their new office doors, which is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, situated at the Total Service Station on the corner of Robert Broom Drive and Lud Hersch Street.

At the office, Dowry security officers will man the the two-way radio system along with cameras in the area in an effort to help combat crime.

“We will continue to take hands with our local CPF Sectors to ensure the safety of all residents within the Krugersdorp Cluster,” Dowry Tactical Manager, Marcel Jonker, said.

The office also provides residents a safe environment where complaints, suspicious activity or crime tip-offs can be lodged.

“We wish the community of Sector 7 a safe festive season and urge residents to not let their guards down over this holiday period and to remain vigilant. Thank you to all the CPF members and patrollers who have supported us during this past year and for contributing to making our area a safer place,” Ernest Treurnich, Sector 7 Patrol Coordinator, said.
